SAGE Morris, the daughter of Jeremy and Cathy Morris, has been recruited by The University of Tennessee -Martin and awarded a spot in their NCAA Division One equestrian team. Interestingly, her grandfather Dr Raymond Sawyer, was involved with Hobbie Horse Hall in its day. So horses are in her blood.

Sage, 18, started riding at age five at Happy Trails Stables and it quickly became her passion. She moved to Florida with her family when she was nine and her riding career flourished.

Morris was the 15-17 SFHJA Equitation Circuit champion, made it to USEF Pony Finals and Hunterdon Cup Qualifier.

She boasts many wins and high finishes in the USEF Pessoa Hunt Seat Medals, Taylor Harris Medals, WHIS classes and the very difficult ASPCA Mcclays.

She was the overall high point junior exhibitor in the Florida State Finals, overall Hunter competitor and Reserve High Point Equitation Rider and taking home first place in training dressage and equitation patterns.

She joins the Seahawks this fall which holds a spot in the top 10 equestrian teams in the nation.

Morris worked with the Make A Wish Foundation, helping a little girl with terminal brain cancer achieve her dream of riding a horse on the beach.

Sage was one of the founding ambassadors for Give A Buck, a charity that raises money Equine Assisted Therapy, helping people with emotional and psychological challenges.

In addition to her riding talent, she is also an incredibly intelligent young lady.

She received an academic scholarship to the university, having been on the National Honours Society since fifth grade.

She is also a part of the National English Honours Society, The Yo Kappa Honours Society and is president of the Student Council. In January, she was elected by her peers and teachers to the 2018 Senior Homecoming Court.
