Pirates rout Pros, Buckets top Eagles Nest 95-78

CARO Contractors Pirates and Aliv Buckets came away with victories in the New Providence Basketball Association’s double header at the AF Adderley Gymnasium on Monday night.

In the men’s division one feature contest, the Pirates routed the Island Game Pros 108-81 and in the division II opener, Aliv Buckets got by the Eagles Nest 95-78.

Tevin Hudson, in 26 minutes and 47 seconds, scored 23 points on 10-for-15 from the field, 1-for-1 from the three-point line and 2-for-3 from the free throw line to lead Caro Contractors and he also dished out nine assists, pulled down five rebounds and dished out four steals.

Craig Smith Jr had 22 points, seven assists, four rebounds and two steals, Dominique Fernander had 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Jamington Johnson had 10 points and Romell Johnson helped out with eight points.

In a losing effort for Island Game, Colton Albury came up with a game high 25 points on 10-for-16 from the field, 1-for-3 from behind the three-point line and 4-for-5 from the charity stripe in 34:11 minutes.

Steve Miller had 13 points, six assists and four rebounds, Derrick Ferguson had 11 points and Judino Wilson added 10 points with seven assists.

The Pirates took advantage of their 18-10 difference in turnovers to outscore the Pros 33-11 on points off turnovers. They also had a 58-40 advantage in points in the paint and were 22-4 in fast break points. Off the bench, the Pirates outscored the Pros 26-21.

Forward Rashad Ingraham exploded for 32 points, shooting 14-for-26 from the field and 4-for-9 from the three-point line without any free throw attempts in 34:16 minutes to pace the winners. He also had 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Dylan Musgrove had 26 points and eight rebounds and Anwar Neilly added 14 points, six rebounds and three assists.

After playing to an 18-18 tie at the end of the first quarter, Aliv pulled away for a 43-35 margin at the half and they never looked back as they increased it to 64-51 at the end of the third. They never trailed in the fourth when they went on a 31-27 spurt to secure the win.

For the Eagles Nest, Janaldo Joseph scored 21 points in 32:47 minutes with six rebounds. Troy Trembley came off the bench and contributed 13 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Tyrell Butler had 11 points and six rebounds and both Antone Brown and Bradley Altidor had eight points with 13 and seven rebounds respectively.
