Labour minister meets with carnival cruises for jobs

Job and training opportunities for Bahamians topped the agenda for the minister of labour, Senator Dion Foulkes, when he met with Carnival Cruise Lines officials in Florida.

Mr Foulkes said the government is committed to providing training, and creating job opportunities, for Bahamians on board cruise lines that come to The Bahamas.

There are currently more than 50 Bahamians working aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines vessels, and the ministries of labour, transport and tourism are in talks with Carnival Corporation to achieve the same through the recruitment, training and employment of hundreds of Bahamian job seekers.
