BRU RUGBY

THE Bahamas Rugby Union is scheduled to put on an exhibition game between the Bahamas’ under-23 team and the visiting LSC Rattlesnakes at Winton rugby pitch 3pm Saturday.

The Rattlesnakes is a team made up of the best college players in Texas. They have previously toured to Cayman, Canada and New Zealand and are recognised as a decent side.

“Our U-23s are made up of players from Freeport and the three Nassau clubs. This should be a very competitive game. The Rattlesnakes are scheduled to play Nassau Renegades next Saturday, June 16.

CITY BOWLING

LEAGUE

THE City Bowling League playoffs concluded Wednesday night at Mario’s Bowling and Family Entertainment with E&U Watercoolers outduelling the defending champions Ten Back Strikers 4-3 in a spectacular best-of-7 game series.

The Watercoolers took an early 3-1 lead only to see Ten Back come storming back to tie the series at 3-3. E&U Watercoolers refused to collapse under the pressure and went on to edge out the seventh and final game 859-844 to claim its first championship crown.

The top players for the newly crowned champions were Tara Johnson with a 174 average for seven games followed by Ural Pratt with a 170 average for the series. Mario Brown led the Ten Back Strikers with an impressive 195 average with some strong assistance from Lee Davis who averaged 180 for the 7 games.

FREE BASKETBALL

CAMP

THE New Providence Basketball Association, in conjunction with Randimac Tigers, is slated to hold a free basketball camp 9am to 2pm July 2-31 at AF Adderley Gym for male and female players. FOURTEEN CLUBS’

GOLF

THE Fourteen Clubs Golf Academy is set to hold its Summer 2018 Junior Golf Training at Bahamas Golf Federation’s Driving Range June 18 to August 17. The training is for youngsters between the ages of four and 17 and the cost is $120 per person. Discounts will be available for families with multiple children attending the camp. All cheques must be made payable to Fourteen Clubs Golf Academy.

The campers will be instructed on the rules of golf and how to play the game better. Short game sessions will also be held along with a video presentation of golf swinging.
