No airport hotel

EDITOR, The Tribune.

VANTAGE-LPIA or NAD, a wholly owned Corporation of the Government of The Bahamas is calling for interested parties with a minimum of ten years in hotel development to indicate their interest in developing an hotel at LPIA for transit passengers and the like.

Sorry, Prime Minister - sorry Minister for Aviation… an absolute no to this. This is not a necessity, Nassau will be well served by various levels of hotels - B&Bs close to LPIA.

May I suggest LPIA if you want to improve LPIA - smarten up the exit from Customs out to the taxi ramps etc…that is the dullest first impression one could have. Add some water fountains - some colour and plantings.

I am honestly amazed that LPIA incredibly gets such a high rating in the. Airport surveys - have always said very badly designed totally unpassenger sensitive. I would be shocked to know the BP&L bills of LPIA… it is so badly designed.

We don’t need an Airport Hotel period. We need to sell NAD possibly retaining a small equity - the French are selling Paris airports.
