THE Bahamas Chess Federation (BCF) is scheduled to host an Invitational Training Seminar for the top junior chess players in the island nation May 5-6.

United States chess grandmaster Renier Gonzalez has been invited to personally train the winners of the Bahamas Junior Chess Championship 2018.

The sessions will cover game analysis, positional analysis, basic endgames and self-study techniques. In addition to the top junior players, the BCF has invited active school and community clubs to take part in the event.

Representatives from six primary and high schools, two urban clubs and three community clubs are poised to benefit from the sessions.

The goal of the training programme is to increase the strength, knowledge, and experience of the country's junior players, as the BCF prepares them for fierce regional competition. Those trained will be primed to share the knowledge gained with their club and school colleagues.

The event is graciously sponsored by the Lindroth Development Company Ltd. and the New Providence Development Company Ltd and will be held at the Centerville Medical Centre.
