Oldtimers Softball heats up

THE New Providence Oldtimers Softball Association continued its regular season with a series of games in the Archdeacon William Thompson Softball Park at the Southern Recreation Grounds over the weekend. Here's a summary of the games:

SWD Boyz 23,

DKS Crusaders 6

Toran Wood had a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate with a home run and two runs batted in to lead SWD to victory. Stephen 'Slugger' Brown was also 3-for-3 with a homer and four RBI in the loss.

Brian Young was the winning pitcher and Tommy Ferguson was the loser.

Corner Boys 33,

Carlo Rossi Stallions 16

Culbert 'Buster' Evans enjoyed a perfect 6-for-6 day with three homers and seven RBI in the win for Corner Boys. Felix Knowles was 4-for-4 in a losing effort.

The winning pitcher was Simmons and Ian Graham was the loser.

Yelrom Home Boys 21,

Dozer Pros 17

Steven Morley was 4-for-5 with four RBI in the win for Yelrom.

Greg Smith went 4-for-6 with seven RBI in a losing effort.

Sidney Thomas was the winning pitcher and Alfred 'Skater' Munnings was the loser.

Q-Club Divers 14,

Masqueraders 4

Dwight Butler went 3-for-3 with a homer and four RBI for the Q-Club.

Lester Stuart was the winning pitcher and K Munnings was the loser.

Yelrom Home Boys 16,

Aliv Truckers 15

Lyndon Richardson went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI to pace Yelrom to another victory.

Greg Gardiner was the winning pitcher and Kermit 'Shaft' Mackey was the loser.

Blue Postal Sharks 27,

Carlo Rossi Stallions 4

Julian Taylor went 4-for-5 with a homer and four RBI in the win.

Richard Martin was the winning pitcher and Ian Graham suffered the loss.

Note: There will be no games on Saturday due to Carnival.

  • The game between KC Construction and Blue Postal Sharks was rained out.
