CHARGE d’affaires at the US Embassy in the Bahamas Stephanie Bowers recently made a courtesy call on Minister of State for Grand Bahama Senator Kwasi Thompson at the Office of the Prime Minister in Grand Bahama.

It was her first official visit to Freeport since assuming office on March 1.

Mr Thompson presented Ms Bowers with a basket of honey products produced by youngsters participating in the Youth Apiary Programme.

He said: “We are very pleased to welcome her and her team to GB. We assure this is going to assist us in continuing the very important relationship we have with the US.

“GB also is very keen on continuing the relationship with US Embassy, and it is a pleasure to welcome her to the island of GB,” Mr Thompson said.

Ms Bowers said she is looking forward to continuing the strong partnership between the US and The Bahamas.

“I am honoured to be here. I recently arrived in The Bahamas, and I look forward to continuing our strong partnership. The US and The Bahamas have mutually aligned goals, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership and moving forward together,” she said.
