Bahamian production house in carnival first

A Bahamian-owned production company is praising Carnival organisers for allowing a local company to set-up the Main Stage for the first time.

Maecal Electronics provided the audio, visual, lighting and staging for Bahamas Carnival Experience, replacing the foreign companies hired in past years to put on the Main Stage show.

Henry "Juice" Outten, Maecal Electronics' owner, said: "Kudos to the promoters for giving the entire weekend to a fully-owned Bahamian company. Nothing was imported; all staff and equipment are owned by Bahamians."

Maecal Electronics used two 16-foot LED walls, four LED towers and a backdrop screen for visuals. Three digital mixing consoles, 20 custom-built line array cabinets, and 12 double 21-foot subs provided the sound, while the stage featured more than 100 lighting fixtures and movers.

"It's been said that this was the best Carnival experience ever, and we would like to thank partners and staff for making the event a reality," Mr Outten added.
