As we celebrate another Pentecost experience, let us use the power of the Holy Spirit to pray more effectively. Let us join hearts and hands in an effort to see the fulfilment of God's dream of holiness on earth as in heaven.

THE HOME

1. Pray for every home to reflect the glory of God.

2. Pray for every mother to be a godly woman and every father to be a godly man.

3. Pray for healthy babies whose mothers ate well, had regular medical examinations and enjoyed a peaceful atmosphere during pregnancy

4. Pray for parents who know how to pray to lead their children to become committed Christians. This is intentional discipleship at its best.

5. Pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit to cover our children.

6. Pray for prayer to be a daily experience for the family (mornings, evenings, and throughout the day).

7. Pray for worshipping families who praise God on a daily basis at home and in church regularly.

8. Pray for each member of the family to have a servant's heart and engage in meaningful ministry.

9. Pray for the extended family and friends to engage in godly conversation and conduct.

10. Pray for all memories to be healed and broken relationships appropriately restored.

THE SCHOOL

1. Pray for God's grace to abound on every compound.

2. Pray for our students to come to school, well fed, well rested and eager to learn.

3. Pray for our teachers to feel energised to motivate the children to learn.

4. Pray for administration to make wise choices, offering fair treatment.

5. Pray for necessary resources to be available to ensure excellent outcomes.

6. Pray for supportive parents, who are responsible and responsive.

7. Pray for safety on the roads for our children.

8. Pray for all gifts and talents to be discovered and developed to build a great nation today and in the future.

9. Pray for godly behaviour and Christian character to become the norm.

10. Let every child obtain a firm academic foundation to find enjoyable employment.

THE WORK PLACE

1. Pray for full employment throughout our land.

2. Pray for a work ethic that would be the envy of the world.

3. Pray for generous salaries, pleasing profits, and prosperity for all.

4. Pray for dedicated employees who are honest and conscientious.

5. Pray for management to be compassionate and appreciative of efforts made.

6. Pray for comfortable work environments, and cordial relationships.

7. Pray for detailed job descriptions with realistic expectations.

8. Pray for benefits to be readily available and bonuses paid when deserved.

9. Pray for amenities such as chapels, gyms and day care space to be provided.

10. Pray for each person to be creatively engaged and experience a sense of fulfilment.

IN THE COMMUNITY

1. Pray for recreational facilities to be evenly distributed.

2. Pray for fellowship and friendship to be fostered.

3. Pray for peace, harmony and unity, to be the order of the day.

4. Pray for backyard gardens and communal farms to flourish.

5. Pray for the cessation of all anti-social behaviour everywhere.

6. Pray for family outings and gatherings to often include those who are alone.

7. Pray for frequent celebrations and occasions for relaxation and rest from work.

8. Pray for strong loving support during times of bereavement and loss of any kind.

9. Pray for our godly witness to all who visit our shores.

10. Pray that we will become known worldwide for our orderly society.

IN OUR CHURCHES

1. Pray that we will be a praying people interceding for all the world.

2. Pray that our outreach will be a source of encouragement and relief to others.

3. Pray that we will curb all tendencies to excessive materialism as we share what we have with others.

4. Pray for the presence of God to permeate the atmosphere in an amazing way.

5. Pray that we will worship in spirit and in truth.

6. Pray that sermons will be well prepared and illustrated to be easily understood.

7. Pray for our hearts to overflow with gratitude for who God is and what God does.

8. Pray for Jesus to be our Lord and Saviour.

9. Pray for the Holy Spirit to be our constant and recognised companion all of our days.

10. Pray to delight God's heart as we do God's will.

May your Pentecost prayers encompass every sphere of human existence, and may you love, worship and serve the Lord with all of your heart.
