BUDWEISER Beer and the Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Company are sending one lucky Nassau native to Russia for this year’s FIFA World Cup Championships.

Anthony Bullard was chosen as the overall winner in the Budweiser Up promotion and will accompany Tribune Sports reporter and 10th Year Seniors editor-in-chief Renaldo Dorsett to the game featuring Serbia and Brazil on June 27.

The ‘Trip of a Lifetime’ campaign saw hundreds of entries and on May 20, Mr Bullard was chosen at the overall winner during a live draw held at Jimmy’s Wines & Spirits Cable Beach location.

“I’m very excited about this” Mr Bullard said. “It’s a great opportunity and I’m happy that I was chosen. My thanks to Budweiser and the Bahamian Brewery – I can’t believe it.”

Bullard will receive an all-expense paid trip to see one of the most highly anticipated match-ups of the series - the game between Brazil and Serbia on June 27.

“We were so pleased with the amount of support which this promotion received,” said Wellington Seymour, executive marketing manager of the Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Company.

“It really is a testament to the growing popularity of soccer (football) in The Bahamas and even more significant for us the popularity of the Budweiser brand.”

Mr Bullard’s journey will be chronicled on the Brewery and Budweiser Beer social media pages.

“We encourage everyone to follow Anthony on his epic trip,” said Manuel Bartolo, Budweiser Bahamas representative. “He joins scores of winners chosen from around the world to watch the world’s most watched sport LIVE.”

Mr Dorsett will provide live updates for fans.

While Bullard will be headed to Russia, three other locals were gifted with prizes which included exclusive Budweiser merchandise and even free Budweiser for their participation in the promotion as well.

Avery Johnson, Vidal Meza Sanchez and Michael Jones were also chosen from hundreds of entries received over the past two weeks. Over the next few weeks Budweiser will continue its FIFA promotion throughout the entire soccer championship season giving Bud drinkers the chance to take advantage of special offers and even more opportunities to win FIFA prizes while enjoying the games at home or online. Interested participants need only purchase Budweiser beer at any specified location to win.
