PO move

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Moving the General Post Office to Gladstone Road.

I pass through Gladstone Road almost daily and over the past weeks at the old food store there has been a lot of activity, but Minister Frankie Campbell says to the TV media until they take possession of the building they have no idea what it is all about.

Big Gazette notice from OPM signed by The Prime Minister exercising domain rights to acquire the property.

Closing East Hill General Post Office is going to inexcusably cause considerable annoyance and nuisance to those who have post boxes there not thinking about parcel post and general delivery.

The decision to move this from almost downtown to three-four plus miles away with only access at Gladstone Road if you have a motor vehicle is irresponsible - lacking consideration to the general public, etc, etc.

I for sure thought the FNM policy was to consult - isn’t it The People’s Time? On this issue no consultation - the post office did not take a poll of the current renters - no consideration.

The old Penn building was seized by BOB - transferred to resolve and it seems the sole intent is to credit resolve with a few million to improve their financial position and no consideration to the public.

We will remember just how the Minnis Government likes to make decisions without consultation. Screwed up big time on this Minister Frankie Campbell.
