BAHAMIANS are being encouraged to "arise and shine" this weekend, as the Shekinah Family Word Centre presents its 2018 Glory Seekers Worship Experience.

For two days, beginning tomorrow at 7.30am, the Centre will host an array of different activities. It all kicks off with special guest speaker Pastor Kellen Russell, senior pastor of Dunamis Outreach Ministry, during the opening event at their East Street location.

The celebrations continue on Saturday at the Southland Church of God Cathedral on Soldier Road, beginning at 6pm. Event organisers are promising to go "all out" for this session, with international guest Psalmist Benita Jones of Washington, DC, along with local worship leaders Anna Calixte, Davian Chase, Keith Jones and Eunice Rolle making an appearance.

Charles Smith, director of the Glory Seekers Worship Experience, told Tribune Religion that this annual event aims to foster unity in the Body of Christ throughout the entire nation and the world at large. As it features a host of local and international gospel artists, pastors and intercessors, the Worship Experience is designed as a time for Christians to experience God in new ways.

"The name of the event speaks for itself. We come together to simply seek the glory. These events promise to be second to none. You won't want to miss it. Due to the rousing success of the first gathering, we felt led to make this an annual gathering for the Body. It is definitely not easy hosting an event of this magnitude, but at the end it's always worth it," said Mr Smith.

Under the leadership of Bishop Arthur and Pastor Samantha Evans, Mr Smith said the Shekinah Family Word Centre has a mandate to restore and rebuild the walls of the family unit, one family at a time.

"We exist to bring glory to God by showing families how to get back to their rightful place of rulership in the earth, through their relationship with God the father, his son Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and each other. The motivation for this event stems from our passionate pursuit of God's presence. Not only that, but it is a direct result of us being obedient to the voice of God. This is surely an event He has predestined. It is evident in the numerous testimonies we have received based on last year's event. We stand firm on the scripture that states 'the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea'," said Mr Smith.

He is certain all who attend this weekend's events can look forward to a supernatural and godly experience - no fluff, gimmicks, schemes or tricks, just healing, revival and breakthrough.

"We look forward to hearing great testaments of how the life changing power of God made a difference in the life of those who would attend. We anticipate persons becoming aware of their purpose, walking in their full potential and destiny and being all that God has created them to be. Due to the spirit charged atmosphere that will be at both events, all of the aforementioned are possible. In fact, the scripture admonishes us that nothing is impossible to those who believe. We believe that Glory Seekers 2018 will be life-changing and when it's all said and done we will ascribe all glory to God who would've made all these things possible," said Mr Smith.
