VOLLEYBALL

BSAA POSTSEASON

THE Bahamas Scholastic Athletic Association (BSAA) commenced its volleyball postseason at the DW Davis Gymnasium on Monday.

The participating schools in this year’s season are Akhepran International Academy, Bahamas Global Academy, Christian Heritage School, Genesis Academy, Mt Carmel Preparatory Academy and Teleos Christian School.

Senior boys playoffs

Teleos Christian Cherubims, the top seeds, defeated Akhepran International Scarabs, the No.4 seeds, in two straight sets 25-15 and 25-12 to advance to the championship. The top scorer was Kia Brooks. The Cherubims now wait the winner between Mt Carmel and Genesis.

Senior girls playoffs

Genesis G-Force, the No.,4 seeds, defeated Akhepran International Scarabs in three set 27-26, 17-25 and 16-14 to advance to second round.

The top scorer was Christa Russell. The G-Force will play the winner between Mt Carmel and Bahamas Global.

Junior boys playoffs

Teleos Christian Cherubum, the No.2 seeds, defeated No.3 seeds Christian Heritage Angels in three sets 12-19, 19-13 and 16-14 to advance to the championship when they will play Akhepran.

The top scorer was Djhimmy St Pharrell.

The BSAA, also known as the ‘Small Schools Association,’ is a non-profit school association that believes in preparing the whole child to become a positive contributor to society.

The association provides healthy activities, including academic and athletic competitions for their membership to fellowship. With their collective talents, they believe they can produce the kind of adult that will make the Bahamas very proud.

FLAG FOOTBALL

SAND WAR Part 3

THE Bahamas Flag Football Association is scheduled to hold its Sands Wars Part 2 Beach Flag Football Tournament on Saturday, November 3 at the beach soccer stadium, Easy Bay Street.

The event is for male and female 5 versus 5 tournament with a cash prize of $3,000. The registration fee is $250 per team. Forms are available at GQ Diplomat Barber Shop located Top of the Hill, Mackey St across from Super Value.

Entrance on game day is $7 for adults and $5 for children.
