CYCLING

SAWYER IS FROM

SPANISH WELLS

IT was incorrectly stated that Lorin Sawyer is from Abaco in the cycling story that talked about his performance at the Caribbean Cycling Championships in The Tribune on Tuesday.

Sawyer is actually from Spanish Wells. We do apologise for the error.

RUGBY

CHAIRMAN vs VICE

CHAIRMAN

THE Bahamas Rugby Union is scheduled to hold a big match-up 3pm Saturday at the Winton Rugby Union.

The event is dubbed: Chairman’s XV vs Vice-Chairman’s XV.

The Chairman has asked me to announce that Maurice Isaacs will be honourary captain of the Chairman’s XV for this game.

As in previous years, the Nassau Cup will predominate in the build up to Christmas with the Heineken Cup taking over in January.

The season will end with the Heineken Cup Final on April 13, the Saturday before Easter.

Goodbye

This is the last newsletter Elystan Miles will be producing as he’s no longer a part of Bahamas Rugby. He will be replaced by Ryan Connolly, the union secretary, who will be issuing these bulletins from now on.

“Thanks to all my good friends in the Bahamas Rugby family for 14 great years at Winton,” Miles said.
