Leaving guests feeling rejuvenated, more knowledgeable about healthy cooking habits, and giving them unique activities to get fit is the aim of Wellness Week at the Breezes Resort and Spa.

The resort has teamed up with Crunch Fitness to bring back the week of special activities for the second year. Organisers said they wanted to ensure those staying at the resort have an opportunity to take part in healthy and wholesome activities.

Wellness Week kicked off last Thursday and continues until April 11.

Since the programme was so well received last year, Breezes kept the same fun and activities as part of its schedule for 2019.

“The aim this year, as was last year, is to offer an environment where guests can become more aware of their health and assist them in making choices toward a more healthy and fulfilling life,” said Hedda Smith, sales manager at the resort.

“It was a great success last year and we received numerous comments from guests who participated asking for a repeat. Also, the schedule of events brings about an excitement during the day and evenings, as there are activities that are not ordinarily a part of our programme,” she told Tribune Health.

Some of those activities include yoga meditation classes on the beach, sunset salutations, a silent disco, dance party, healthy cooking demonstrations, a boot camp, complimentary massages, and more.

“Breezes already has a variety of interesting activities to keep you in shape, like rock climbing, the flying trapeze, an assortment of water sports, so the highlight of the Wellness Week is to showcase additional unique activities that guests would not normally take part in at a resort,” she said.

Ms Smith said this week guests get to enjoy the relaxing yoga classes, moving through poses that build strength, increase flexibility, and ensure at the end of the day they experience a sense of calm and positive vibes.

They can also channel their inner rock star, drumming along to a slamming soundtrack using weighted drumsticks.

Ultimately, Ms Smith said the week is designed leave guests with health practices they can incorporate their daily lives when they leave.
