JS Johnson & Company invited all customers to celebrate the insurance agency and brokerage’s 100th anniversary with staff and management last week.

Festivities began at the company’s Thompson Boulevard location on April 3, where Ricardo Clarke of Joy FM joined staff to give away J S Johnson trivia prizes on-air. Customers were invited to enjoy cake, light refreshments and receive JS Johnson gift bags.

JS Johnson’s Soldier Road location was next to celebrate. AC of Y98.7 FM was on-hand to announce more JS Johnson trivia winners and broadcast cake-cutting.

At the insurer’s Collins Avenue headquarters, Alister McKellar, its managing director, and Robert Bartlett, senior manager of customer service, gave brief remarks followed by a final cake-cutting of the day. Special K of 100 Jamz, broadcasting live, invited customers in the area to stop by for trivia prizes and gift bags.

During the event, JS Johnson unveiled the proclamation, issued by The Government, declaring April 2019 as JS Johnson month. The proclamation detailed the company’s start on April 3, 1919, when William CB Johnson, nephew of JS Johnson & Company founder, Joseph Samuel Johnson, signed the first agency agreement allowing a Bahamian operation to write insurance through Eagle Star Insurance Company in London.
