Sherwin-Williams Bahamas has achieved “a milestone occasion” with the opening of its first local “superstore” following the acquisition of competitor, Bahamian Paint Supply.

The specialist paints and paint supplies retailer, which enjoys a 20-year history in The Bahamas, has opened the new store in the old Bahamian Paint Supply building on Tonique Williams Highway close to the roundabout with Sir Milo Butler Highway.

“The opening of our Sherwin-Williams Paints superstore is a milestone occasion for our company,” said Reto Giovanoli, Sherwin-Williams Bahamas’ general manager. “Sherwin-Williams Bahamas is dedicated to delivering the tools and expertise for an exceptional painting experience for homeowners, professionals and even artists alike. We also believe in trying to make a positive difference in our community now and in the coming year especially.”

And Sherwin-Williams Bahamas’ expansion has not stopped there. It opened a fully dedicated art supply store on November 18 at its Cable Beach location, fulfilling a dream it has harboured since mid-2018.

“The art world is an always-changing landscape, and procuring the correct range and selection of products was difficult,” Mr Giovanoli said. “With the constant help of our local artists we were able to select the perfect range of the latest products that needed to come to The Bahamas and, luckily, it all came to fruition.

“The Bahamian art scene is currently vibrant, dynamic and strong. This shows that there is a ton of talent here and all they need are the tools. Sherwin-Williams Bahamas art supply store hopes to consistently and continuously meet the needs of the growing number of brilliant artists we have in The Bahamas.

“Our aim is to introduce new products or even old ones through demonstration. We want the artist to feel, touch, and try out the products. They may find something they always saw but never tried,” Mr Giovanoli added.

“Beyond just being tubes and bottles with pretty paint in them, I see them as powerful tools that have the ability to change someone’s life, be it the person creating the art or the person observing the artists’ creation.”
