I was sorry to see the Christmas tree changed

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I think the sea-themed decorations on the Christmas tree in downtown Nassau were delightful and I’m sorry they were removed.

The conch shell, starfish and seahorse ornaments celebrate our natural resources – treasures from the beautiful Bahamian sea.

The display was especially significant in the face of climate change and the threat to our marine life, particularly the Queen conch.

Not to mention, these are assets that draw countless of visitors to our shores every year.

From an economic point of view, it’s good to see more and more Bahamian-made ornaments on the shelves of local arts and craft stores and at the various Christmas festivals.

I am sure tourists would love to buy them as souvenirs.
