A WOMAN was robbed of a basket of Christmas ornaments by an armed man Monday night.
According to police, around 11pm the woman was outside her residence on Ivanhoe Road, off Mackey Street, collecting a basket of handmade ornaments from her vehicle.
As the woman was walking inside the house, the gunman approached her.
Police said upon seeing this man, the woman dropped the basket and screamed, alerting her boyfriend who opened the door of the house allowing her to run inside.
The suspect then picked up the basket and fled on foot, police said.
Authorities are also investigating a shooting incident that has left one man in hospital.
Police said shortly after 11pm a man was brought to Princess Margaret Hospital in a private vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was then rushed to operating theatre and is listed in critical but stable condition.
