Woman dies in boating incident

ABACO police are investigating a boating incident that left a woman dead.

ASP Terecita Pinder reported that the incident happened on Wednesday near Little Hog Cay involving a 28ft vessel that ran aground on rocks.

She said that on further investigation police found a female passenger unresponsive on board the vessel. The victim was taken to the Marsh Harbour medical centre, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor.

ASP Pinder said that police are awaiting an autopsy report to determine the cause of death. Investigations are continuing into the matter.

ASP Pinder reported that officers acting on information, discovered in two separate incidents, a quantity of suspected marijuana and a black .40 magazine with 16 rounds of .9mm ammunition. No arrest was made in the matter and investigations are continuing.
