Two arrested after man robbed while walking on Paradise Island bridge

A MAN and a woman were arrested on Tuesday after a tourist was robbed while walking over the Paradise Island bridge.

Police said shortly after 4am, a man was walking south on the eastern Paradise Island Bridge when he was approached by three men who forced him into a vehicle and robbed him of cash and an iPhone.

The men drove the victim to an ATM and forced him to withdraw cash, before putting him out of the vehicle and speeding away.

A short time later, acting on information, Tourism Police Unit officers, searched a home and vehicle on Abundant Life Road and recovered the victim’s cell phone and a small amount of cash.

An man and a woman who were present during the time of the search were taken into custody. The initial police report did not reveal the man was a tourist, however Supt Shanta Knowles revealed this element to ZNS News last night.

Investigations are ongoing.
