By RIEL MAJOR

POLICE in New Providence are investigating a traffic accident that left a woman dead.

According to police, shortly after 2am on Saturday, four occupants of a grey Nissan Primera were travelling on Soldier Road, near Spencer Court, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole.

All of the occupants of the car were seriously injured and were later taken to hospital. The following day, the female passenger died from her injuries while the other three passengers are listed in serious to critical condition.

Officers from the Traffic Department are continuing their investigations into the matter.

Late last month, a retired priest died in Cat Island after the scooter he was riding crashed into a utility pole on Queen’s Highway.

Dr Anthony Dahl, 71, had moved to the island for his retirement just a few days before he died.
