FORMER Urban Renewal Deputy Director Michelle Reckley was today arraigned on 21 charges relating to allegedly defrauding the Urban Renewal Small Homes Repairs programme in Grand Bahama of over $1.2m.

Of those 21 charges, three relate to money laundering offences, and two others were brought in connection with corruption offences. Reckley was arraigned alongside five co-conspirators - James Hall, Kylon Vincent, Christopher Symonette, Stefanie Collie and Joseph Lightbourne - all of whom were charged with offences related to fraud, money laundering, conspiracy and abetment.

The group appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt where they entered pleas of not guilty to all charges. The matter is adjourned to March 18 for a status hearing, but the defendants have the right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail in the interim.
