TWO men are in hospital following a stabbing incident at a nightclub in Freeport, according to police. ASP Terecita Pinder said police received a report of an argument at an establishment on Wimpole Street, involving a group of men, shortly after 2am on Sunday.

She said that when the patrons attempted to intervene, they were stabbed in the body. EMS personnel were called and took the three male victims to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where one was treated and discharged. The two other men remain in hospital in stable condition.

According to reports, shortly before 7pm on Saturday police were on routine patrol in the Porgy Bay area when they observed a man acting suspiciously and searched him. Officers discovered a quantity of suspected cocaine and marijuana on the man and in his vehicle.

Ms Pinder said that the male suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

In a second incident, officers acting on information executed a search warrant shortly after 8pm on Saturday at a residence in Bailey Town, Bimini.
