POLICE are investigating an alleged suicide that happened on Tuesday.

According to officials, shortly before 10pm an adult man was discovered at his Malcolm Allotment apartment with injuries to his head. Paramedics were called to the scene, but could not revive him.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Meanwhile in other criminal matters, a firearm was discovered in the Eight Mile Rock area this week, a senior police official reported on Wednesday.

ASP Terecita Pinder reported that Drug Enforcement Unit officers acting on information went to an area in Martin Town, Eight Mile Rock, where they found a 9mm pistol with nine rounds of ammunition.

She said that no arrest made and investigations are continuing into the matter.
