D'Aguilar could be the surprise leader

EDITOR, The Tribune

There are times in politics when a rising star hits the jackpot. I suspect the interview or panel Jerome Sawyer had last evening might have been one of those occasions.

Hon. Dionisio D’Aguilar became a potential alternative to one Hubert A. Minnis to be leader of the FNM before the next election. An FNM under D’Aguilar would have a chance at the polls, whilst under Minnis as like the PLP under Christie in 2017, would be dead in the water. A massive loss!

D’Aguilar for leader of the FNM should be the triumphant shout, from the benchers of the FNM. What a cost to the ethics if that is still appropriate in the world of politics! Westminster tradition bush crack gone.

D’Aguilar’s empathic total support to Ministers Sands and Dames was in total contrast to a D’Aguilar prior to 2017 – especially when he was Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce when he ripped through the PLP.

Time and power changes the political beast!

Watch out Minnis, you have created a political potential, who could easily lead the FNM to victory –- something which you would not be able to do. D’Aguilar for Leader and Prime Minister!
