BASKETBALL

NPWBA PLAYOFFS

THE New Providence Women’s Basketball Association got its best-of-three playoffs underway last night at the DW Davis Gymnasium.

Game two in the two series between the pennant winning Bees Trucking and fourth place Connectors and the second place Foxxy Angels against the third place Saints is slated to continue on Thursday night.

If necessary, the third and deciding games will be played on Saturday.

The best-of-five championship is set to start on Tuesday, March 5.

Connectors

Saturday

7pm - Connectors vs Bees Trucking (if necessary)

8pm - Saints vs Foxxy Angels (if necessary)

TRIALS

THE Nassau Darts Association (NDA) is scheduled to hold its Local Masters Trials this weekend.

On Friday at 8pm, the men will play at Game-X on Mackey Street.

On Saturday at 1pm, the women will play at Brother Eddie’s at Arawak Cay.

ROAD RACE

The Ohio State University Buckeyes will be visiting Nassau for their 12th Annual Cruise For Cancer today.

More than 1,000 cruise passengers will be participating in a three-mile run/one-mile walk from Pompey Square to Arawak Cay and back to the ship. This will result in the closure of Bay Street from Pompey Square to Chippingham Road today between the hours of 8:30am and 10am.

JAMBOREE

THE Royal Bahamas Defence Force will hold its Inter Rank & Rate Softball Jamboree at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex on Friday.

The event will begin at 8:40am and will feature a home-run and base stealing competition as well as the games between the squads.
