IMMIGRATION officials apprehended 30 Haitian migrants in Abaco after a sloop was spotted near Man-O-War Cay and Scotland Cay.
The 33ft Haitian sloop was sighted shortly after 5pm on Thursday, according to ASP Terecita Pinder.
Immigration officials were alerted, and the vessel was towed to Marsh Harbour Dock, where the migrants – 19 men and 11 women – were taken into custody.
Meanwhile, Abaco police arrested three men in separate incidents on that island.
Ms Pinder reported that a 36-year-old male resident of Treasure Cay was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs; a 21-year-old male resident of Treasure Cay was arrested for grievous harm; and a 39-year-old male of Central Pines was arrested for burglary.

You really don't want to know what Trump thinks about the Bahamas....trust me, it's a whole hell-of-a-lot worse than most Bahamians think about him. When told Nancy Pelosi was in Hawaii and Maxine Waters was in the Bahamas over the holidays, he all too quickly retorted: "They each belong way out to sea on an island with people that love them. Is there any way we can get them to stay where they are?" LMAO

A few years ago (15 to be exact) my client was approached by a representative of the orange one who was trying to purchase property in the Cable Beach area to build a Trump Tower. So he obviously thinks about Bahamas more than we think about him. Anyway, WHO CARES what he thinks?

You must be talking about Perry Christie's good friend Phil Ruffin, who coincidentally is also a good friend of President Trump. But Trump wasn't going to be the purchaser/owner of the Cable Beach property. Ruffin was going to own it and Trump simply lend his name to it. Ruffin quickly realized though that he was better off planting his money in Vegas (The Treasure Island resort). Snake still thinks Ruffin might be interested in buying Atlantis from Brookfield. That deal would put an awful lot of money in the coffers of Christie, Davis and the PLP. Now that's a big joke! LMAO

Correct me if I'm wrong. Haiti is South of the Bahamas and Abaco is most northerly island in Bahamas. Dey travel all this way undetected?

Why do we bother to arrest migrants to Abaco? That island is under the full control of Haitians. You can't do anything in Abaco without permission from the Haitian Pastors Association.
Time to write that island off. Pull all government resources and personnel from Abaco and let them just be run officially from Port au Prince (they already are unofficially - they just using our Treasury money to do it).

While part of your observation might be close (there are quite a lot of Haitians here as everyone knows), I think you're off when it comes to Treasury money. Abaco receives a lot less than it puts in - I guarantee that. We certainly don't rely on the government for anything. Here's a thought, let us keep most of it and use it how we see fit. Bet we could solve many of our issues if we had greater control and autonomy rather than Nassau politricians thinking they know best.

CuriousAbaconian - your point is correct that Abaco received less than what it puts in. Government uses Abaco money for Inagua, and Crooked Island, etc. However, what i'm suggesting is that government pull ALL resources from Abaco - don't pay any teachers, air traffic controllers, police, customs officers, nurses, doctors, road repair, any government worker in the govt complex, nobody - and of course don't pay immigration officers - what we need them for? Send everyone home - or they can relocated to a real Bahamian island. Let Port au Prince pay these employees salaries if they want them to operate in Abaco, or perhaps send up replacement government workers from Haiti and distribute copies of the Haitian Constitution and Haitian laws online and around town - the common ones that Bahamians who choose to stay in Abaco would need to be familiar with. How to properly tie your donkey to a post, etc.

The detention center is "The Mud" or Pigeon Pea, but its unguarded and has no walls or gates and detainees can come and go as they please!!

Yes, or no - comrade immigration apprehended 30 Haitian migrants in Abaco whilst their officers cruised by unnoticed of the highly visible 9,988 warm bodies man's, woman's and children's - dwelling unbothered full time at The Mud, Pigeon Pea and Elbow Cay shantytowns. Yes, no - not makin' this up that just on days leading up apprehension the 30 - forty-eight more combined babies, all under "limbo" age 18 years were born on Abaco, Grand Bahamaland, at PMH and across we colony of islands }.
