The Ministry of Tourism’s airlift team welcomed American Airlines’ newly-appointed senior regional manager for the Caribbean during his recent visit to Nassau.

Wellesley Joseph and Caroline Hollingsworth, American Airlines’ Bahamas country manager, met with Ministry officials to discuss key issues affecting the partnership between the airline and this nation, including improving the customer experience.

“American Airlines is a very solid leader and committed airline partner to the islands of The Bahamas,” said Tyrone Sawyer, the Ministry’s senior director of airlift. “We see great strides being made by American Airlines.

“This is evident in American Airlines’ growing ‘footprint’ in The Bahamas by virtue of its recently-introduced Saturday-only flights to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera from Charlotte, and its Saturday-only flights from New York/La Guardia and Chicago/O’Hare to Nassau. On behalf of the minister of tourism and aviation, we thank American Airlines for its sustained support of Bahamas tourism.”

American Airlines has more non-stop flights to more destinations in the The Bahamas - and from more airports - than any other airline. It provides non-stop flights from Miami and Charlotte, Philadelphia, Dallas and Chicago to Nassau. The carrier also provides non-stop flights from Miami and Charlotte to Freeport, and non-stop flights from Miami (and now, Charlotte) to North Eleuthera, George Town, Exuma and Marsh Harbour, Abaco.
