Chamber pledges to boost ties with govt over labour

The Minister of Labour and newly-appointed Chamber of Commerce chief executive have both pledged to strengthen their organisations’ partnership for the benefit of workers and businesses alike.

This renewed commitment came as Jeffrey Beckles paid a courtesy call on Senator Dion Foulkes on Monday, January 21, at the minister’s office in Charlotte House on Shirley and Charlotte Streets.

Mr Foulkes was accompanied by Cecilia Strachan, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Labour. Mr Beckles was joined by Khrystle Rutherford-Ferguson, vice-chair of The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation (BCCEC). Both parties discussed a wide range of topics impacting the Bahamian business community.
