No smoke without Fyre

EDITOR, The Tribune.

It is not the first time that serious allegations have been made concerning the promotional event…before we all forget there was the Caribbean Music Fest - $’000’s paid and a no show everything stupid, Rawson Square and nothing.

The Frye Exuma Festival and the recent exposure on Netflix makes very serious allegations of impropriety in certain areas, all of which have been denied.

In both cases there cannot be any doubt the Ministry of Tourism must have had a part – it might have been only small, but you cannot put on a promotional event of this size without Tourism, the Police, Customs, Immigration having a hand or being involved that suggests that public funds might have been involved, and if so, that means rightly there has to be an investigation.

I call on both these events and hopefully within three months will come back and table a full report. If prosecutions have to occur then let it be.

Misuse of public funds - tasing brides - requiring payments to get services are offences.
