CARTWRIGHT

HONOURED

THE Bahamas Athletic Association of Coaches will be honouring coach Ronald Cartwright for his dedicated golden anniversary service to our athletes and the Bahamian community at the Senior National Track and Field Championships this weekend in Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Shaun Miller, president of the Coaches Association, along with two of our most outstanding senior athletes competing at the championships, will present Cartwright with an Omega watch as a gift for his dedication and commitment to the sport.

It will be the first of two recognitions for Cartwright, who will be honoured by the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) at the end of year awards gala, which will be held in the principality of Monaco in October, 2019.

In attendance will be delegates from the 175 countries that compete in track and field. Prince Albert II of Monaco will present him with a Veterans Pin in recognition of his long service and dedication to the sport of athletics.

FINAL SET

THE Fidelity Bulldogs pulled off a 12-9 victory over the CIBC FirstCaribbean X-Men to advance to the final of the Banker’s Softball League’s championship series in the Banker’s Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

The Bulldogs clinched their berth on Wednesday night as they played the X-Men in the third and deciding game of their semi-final series. The Bulldogs will now take on the BAF Financial Stars in the championship series.

MIXED DOUBLES

COMPETITION in the Mario’s Mixed Doubles Bowling Tournament continued Wednesday night at Mario’s Bowling and Family Entertainment Centre where teams of one male and one female are competing over a six-week period for a 1st place prize.
