A WOMAN is in custody assisting police in Grand Bahama with an arson investigation into a fire that destroyed a Freeport mini shopping plaza valued at some $800,000.

Police Fire Services went to Rachel’s Britannia Mini Mall in Caravel Beach shortly after 3pm on Wednesday, where they met the structure ablaze, pictured. The building, housing about a dozen businesses, was completely destroyed.

Grand Bahama Airport Fire Services also assisted in extinguishing the flames, which also threatened another nearby shopping plaza. ASP Terecita Pinder said that arson is suspected and police are questioning a woman suspect in the matter.

It is usual that the harm done by a person done by reacting to a grievance with a personally percieved wrong - the target is done by a woman in an out of family situation. Rarely otherwise.
