We would need an officer on board

EDITOR, The Tribune.

As a result of the meeting with President Trump are we to understand that the US was offered to up their presence in the southern Bahamas presumably the Inagua RBDF base, to police the waters south of Inagua for contraband — migrant smuggling and especially drugs which head to the US?

Great this could save the Treasury millions - no need to sail our expensive to operate patrol craft down to Inagua - no need to purchase those Minister Dames toys - drones, etc, he wants the US to cover us 1000%.

My single stipulation is that RBDF marines and an Officer will be on the US Coast Guard cutters at all times.

Finally the FNM are thinking, or was it the US who were tired of the lack of performance of the RBDF?

Have at least two US Coast Guard cutters based at Inagua with air support, by jingo we finally have something that will improve on what we don’t have now…
