POLICE in New Providence have issued an appeal for information surrounding the reported stabbing of a CH Reeves student on Wednesday.

Police Inspector Leonardo Burrows yesterday confirmed police received several reports of an incident involving a group of students from CH Reeves that occurred near Robinson Road on Wednesday afternoon.

However, he said responding officers discovered nothing related to the incident when they arrived.

Inspector Burrows said further checks carried out yesterday at the school and the surrounding area were to “no avail”.

He added neither the victim, nor his parents had come forward to report the matter officially.

Inspector Burrows said the lack of information related to the case has “tied” the hands of the police.

However, he did insist the Child Protection Act does make it mandatory to report violent acts involving minors.

School officials could not be reached yesterday for comment.
