Eight Cubans sent home

EIGHT Cubans were repatriated to Havana, Cuba onboard a Bahamasair flight under escort on Saturday.

According to the Department of Immigration, this joint operation was headed by Superintendent Peter Joseph and a team of immigration officers with the assistance of the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. This repatriation convoy departed Carmichael Road Detention Centre at 7.30am en route to Lynden Pindling International Airport. The Bahamasair flight departed at 11.55am.

Did Cuba pay for the flight? If not, the Bahamas should reconsider permitting airtravel of any kind between the Bahamas and Cuba.

carmichael detention centre is full of em and you send (8) what a waste of time this is / was? Why just load up the whole detention centre in one big plane and send em all back to Cuba or Haiti - the other foreign nationals that are here illegally - let them live in Haiti or Cuba illegally we don't need the expense here.
