Cameron put May behind high wall

EDITOR, The Tribune

Your columnist article: EU felled UK PM is interesting but for accuracy has to be rebutted.

Election-Referendum under Conservative PM Cameron which resulted in his resignation and the appointment of Theresa May as PM put the incoming PM behind a high wall as Cameron had accepted the results of the referendum as binding. Even the most biased commentator of the referendum on the leave side would accept their arguments were heavily over stated and the over 60’s swallowed the talk and many voted for the first time.

The EU cannot be described as having felled a UK Prime Minister as PM May and her Government exercised Article: 50 and applied to the EU to be advised on what terms would they accept UK’s departure? The EU gave them the terms - the UK Parliament and clearly PM May could not get approval of the UK Parliament - blame lies totally at the feet of the UK.

UK was never European - EU made a mistake allowing UK to retain Sterling - stayed outside of Schengen which is the core of EU…the free movement of EU citizens throughout EU.

Halloween UK will leave the UK, agreement or not…their choice!
