New Providence Modified Pitch Softball League action heats up

THE New Providence Modified Pitch Softball League continued its regular season action over the weekend with a series of games played at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

Highlights of the games played are as follows:

BTC Outsiders 7,

Undertakers 0

Hitman 18,

USS Truckers 5

Brad Wood Jr got the win over Benson Young.

Tim Clarke and Gerard Johnson both went 3-for-3.

Clarke scored three runs and drove in two runs, including a home run, while Johnson scored two runs and drove in two runs along with a home rum

Mighty Mitts 20,

St Barnabas Knights 4

Victor Grant Jr secured the win over Cecil Mackey.

Stefan McKenzie and Junel Bain both went 2-for-4. McKenzie scored three runs and drove in a run and Bain scored two runs.

Moses Kerr was a perfect 4-for-4, scored three runs and drove in four runs, including two home runs. Stephen Seymour was also a perfect 3-for-3, scored two runs and drove in two runs.

Undertakers 30,

St Barnabas Knights 23

Jamal Nairn got the win, while Andrew Stubbs was tagged with the loss.

Shawn Neely went 4-for-6, scored four runs and drove in three runs. Juan Pratt went 5-for-6, scored four runs, drove in five runs, including a home run. Jamal Nairn went 5 for 5, scored four runs and drove in one run.

For the losing Team, Shaquille Anderson went 4 for 5, scored four runs and drove in 2 runs, including a home run. Ken Bain and Jason Seymour both went 3-for-5, scored three runs each, Seymour drove in four runs, including a home run, while Bain drove in one run.

Stallions 14

Bradley Cash secured the win over N Ferguson.

Trae Gilbert went 5-for-5, scored four runs and drove in four runs. Gee Willie and Bradley Cash both went 4-for-5, Willie scored four runs, drove in four runs including two home run, while Cash scored two runs, drove in four runs with a home run. Philip Clarke and Keron Sands both went 3-for-5, Clarke scored four runs and drove in three runs including a home run, while Sands scored three runs and drove in two runs.

For the Stallions, Wayne Farquharson went 4-for-4, scored three runs, drove in six runs, including two home runs.

This weekend’s schedule is as follows - No games on Saturday due to the homegoing funeral for Ramon Johnson, a former player of the league. May his soul rest in peace.
