Ebenezer Union Baptist celebrates 127th anniversary

Rev Stephen Smith and the Ebenezer Union Baptist family in Farmer’s Hill, Exuma celebrated their 127th church anniversary during a special worship service under the theme “Trust God” – from Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Rev Franklyn McKenzie, president of the Exuma Christian Council encouraged the congregants to trust In God because He will never disappoint you. He told them to place their lives in God’s hands.

“Your friends may leave you sometimes, your family may forsake you also, but trust in God; He will guide you in the right path. God is your creator and redeemer. God is your preserver, In light of the recent national catastrophe Hurricane Dorian we all as a nation must trust God to sustain us and help us to carry on,” said Rev McKenzie.

The honorees during this year’s celebration were the Darville Lumber Company, Minister Anthony Rolle, Brother Earnal “Donnie” Bain and Brother Tyrone Rolle, who all made significant contributions during the church’s recent renovation project.
