IT was a milestone night for Radshad Davis in his career with the University of Texas-Arlington Mavericks.

Davis recorded his first double double as a Maverick with team highs of 14 points and 10 rebounds in just 19 minutes of an 80-73 loss to the three-time defending Mountain West Conference Champions, Nevada Wolfpack.

The senior guard led four Mavericks in double figures.Trailing by four (77-73) with 30 seconds remaining, Davis pulled down a rebound off a missed Nevada free throw, however, a Wolf Pack player contested that effort – a foul potentially could have been called – and it resulted in Davis falling to the ground and being called for a travel.

The Wolfpack made free throws down the stretch to clinch the win.

Six of Davis’s 10 rebounds came on the offensive end as UTA held a 12-9 edge in that category.

His contributions off the bench also helped UTA hold a 39-24 advantage. UTA is off to a 2-1 start this season,

As a junior last season, Davis averaged 8.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.He finished second on the team in field-goal percentage at 51 per cent and shot 78 per cent from the free-throw line.

He tied for the team lead in total rebounds (181) and concluded the year 2nd in per-game average.

Davis hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds remaining at Coastal Carolina on January 12.

He followed with three-straight double-figure point games for the only time during the from January 24 to February 2.

He posted a season-high 17 points and five assists versus Louisiana on February 21 and finished with 12 double-figure point games.

Davis was one of just three players to appear in all 33 games and made 10 starts.

Prior to UTA, he played at the JuCo level with the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzlies. As a sophomore he averaged 16.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game against all opponents.

He finished second in the region in both scoring and rebounding.

Davis also received All-Region 16 first team after the season.

Davis starred locally for the CC Sweeting Cobras where he won the Hugh Campbell MVP before making the transition to Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas.
