THE PRESS BOX: Can Cowboys pull off upset against Patriots?

By INIGO 'NAUGHTY' ZENICAZELAYA

THE hot click bait this week is whether my Dallas Cowboys can shock the world and hand the Patriots their second loss of the year, and second loss in three games.

RUN DAK RUN

The Cowboys can win if they allow Dak to use his legs as well as his arm.

The blueprint to beating the Patriots was produced by the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens routed the Patriots 37-20, rushed 41 times for 210 rushing yards and three rushing scores.

Running back Mark Ingram Jr contributed 115 of those yards, but quarterback and MVP candidate quarterback Lamar Jackson scrambled for 61 yards on 16 carries.

Jackson only passed for 161 yards in the contest.

Prescott is a big quarterback, 6’3 and 240lbs, who has proven he can take hits.

Now is the time to use his legs.

This might be the ace in the hole that beats New England.

If the Dallas Cowboys can reproduce the Ravens production on the ground, then mark this down as a major upset win for Big D.

THROW DAK THROW

Out of 10 games this season, Prescott has six games where he had a quarterback rating above 100.

Seven games in which he threw at least two touchdowns.

Five games where he tossed three touchdowns or more.

So far, Prescott has 21 touchdowns in the air, three on the ground.

3,221 passing yards, a 67.7 completion percentage and a quarterback rating of 104.1.

Impressive to say the least, easily putting Prescott in the MVP conversation.

I’m looking forward to how Prescott and the Cowboys’ league-leading No.1 ranked offence, play against the league leading No.1 ranked Patriots defence on the road in New England.

TELEGRAPH

The Cowboys seem to be telling Patriots head coach Bill Belichick that Dak is their MVP, so come and get him.

This will play to Prescott’s strengths, and give Prescott an opportunity to prove the whole world wrong, and hand a major “L” to the Patriots in their house.

The Cowboys must start strong, keep the game tight, and hit a hot patch in the third quarter where they have a history of outplaying their opponents.

If the Cowboys can execute and remain focused, ‘Squawk Squawk’ the upset bird will fly, wearing a Cowboy hat!
