THE last bodies have not even been removed from the rubble of the death-trap Abaconian shantytowns whose demolition he protested and Fred Smith is off in Italy, paragliding.
That alone tells a depressing story about this country, who it tolerates and affords celebrity status to and how easily and flippantly its systems and institutions are abused to the detriment of the wider public interest.
