The Trinity City of Praise is celebrating 20 years of leading nation-wide prayers to save The Bahamas and its people. The anniversary event for Trinity City’s Prayer Grotto takes place this Friday at 7.30 pm at the sanctuary on Tonique Williams-Darling Highway.

Over the years, Trinity City has worked hard at becoming a trailblazer, creating ministry models that inspire and mobilise other ministries and churches. One such example is the Commonwealth and Global Prayer Grotto, a 24-hour prayer centre that is the first of its kind in The Bahamas and the Caribbean and is considered a “monument of hope”.

Established as a prayer ministry of Trinity City, the Prayer Grotto has hosted a number of national prayer events that have brought together government officials, community and church leaders, and citizens from throughout the Commonwealth to offer up prayers for the nation. These prayers have included prayers for protection against destructive hurricanes and prayers against crime, violence and murders.

The Prayer Grotto is also known for hosting its annual National Prayer Motorcades, attracting hundreds to pray to God for the nation.

And the 20th anniversary of the Prayer Grotto could not have come at more pertinent time, said Trinity City officials

“1/9/19 will be a date forever remembered by Bahamians everywhere. It is the date that Hurricane Dorian struck our northern islands and left death and destruction in its wake. Never before experienced in The Bahamas at such a great magnitude, the Category 5 hurricane left the entire nation in mourning, disbelief and dismay,” said Minister Sheneque Brice, counsellor and administrator at Trinity City.

“The prime minister appealed to all to let the common prayer throughout our land be for the gifts of the spirit needed to heal and to restore: the gift of hope, the gift of generosity, the gift of encouragement, the gifts of courage and fortitude, and the gift of humility to work in one accord.’ Indeed, it is prayer and our belief in God, above all else, that will foster hope and motivation for a brighter future.”

She added: “It is now in this time when our nation focuses on restoration and rebuilding that the Commonwealth and Global Prayer Grotto stands to remind The Bahamas of the power of prayer. The Prayer Grotto, the first of it kind in the region, is proof that prayer works; hundreds enter its doors and leave with testimonies of miracles, healing, salvation, deliverance, restoration, provision and inspiration. When so many are traumatised, grieving, displaced and hurting, the Prayer Grotto is there to provide the healing that is so desperately needed.”

Founders and Senior Apostles of Trinity City of Praise, Apostle Ed and Prophetess Lee Watson, will be leading the service for the 20th anniversary which will be a time of worship, prayer and thanksgiving.

All, including Prayer Grotto partners and visitors, are invited to participate in this “Encounter Experience”.

“Prayers and declarations for the rebuilding of the nation will be released, and focus will be placed on the upcoming year, 2020, by speaking and sowing into the New Year,” said Minister Brice.
