Bank of the Bahamasgives to Dorian relief

Bank of The Bahamas has donated $25,000 to the Bahamas Red Cross in support of Hurricane Dorian relief efforts.

Robert Cox, the bank's corporate manager for business development, presented the cheque to Terez Curry, president of the Bahamas Red Cross Society.

Mr Cox said: "Hurricane Dorian has brought great devastation to our northern islands, and our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in the north. When families are hurting because of a major catastrophe, there is a great need for help.

"Therefore, Bank of The Bahamas is pleased to make a contribution to the Hurricane Dorian relief efforts and we thank the Red Cross for the great work they are doing."

Accepting the cheque, Mrs Curry thanked the bank for "a generous donation" and said the funds will go a long way in providing relief and supplies to persons affected by Hurricane Dorian.
