Iram Lewis is not saved

EDITOR, The Tribune.

The appointment of Iram Lewis to the newly constructed Minister of Disaster Preparedness is only designed to try to control who gets assistance or not. It is a clear sign of the desperation by the FNM to salvage what little is left of what used to be “FNM Country”.

But those of us who have any political experience can say unequivocally that far more people would be disenfranchised because of the move.

If all things are considered equal, and if Iram was to be judged for his rational, we could easily conclude that this is just another disaster waiting to happen. We have seen the long lines, angry, displaced, frustrated and hungry people have been made to endure.

Is this the same Lewis that sat quietly by while the youth and athletic programmes were suffocated by Minister of Sports Lanisha Rolle cancelling of the IAAF World Relays? Lewis a former athlete should have at least put himself in the position of the athletes who were ostracised.

So no one is expecting him to show compassion, because he was cold in doing nothing to help the athletes.

Someone said, when you hire a clown, expect to see a circus. Hubert Minnis is shooting in the dark, hoping he hit something, but he is certainly not aiming at anything. Lord help us.

I expect the “high priced” spin doctors to have a field day with this, they can have their own opinion, but they cannot have their own facts.

The letter writer need to get facts right. Rolle was not minister of youth when the world relays were cancelled. If you can't get that simple fact right, then why else should the rest of the speculative letter be believed?
