NPSA Playoffs: Wildcats get 11-4 win over Mingoes

THE University of The Bahamas Mingoes women's softball team suffered an 11-4 loss to the Wildcats in New Providence Softball Association playoff action on Tuesday at the Bankers Field.

UB head coach Shane Albury said the team just had too many errors. "We had a few pitching challenges along the way and it didn't help that we had some errors that The Wildcats capitalised on," Albury said.

"We were right in the thick of it for about three innings where we were up and they just came back roaring in the third and fourth innings and never looked back."

Albury says the team looks to regroup in the second game of the best-of-five series. "Despite the loss the ladies are still upbeat and we knew where we fell down," he said. "We have respect for The Wildcats but we also have some tenacious players on our team and they are coming for the win."
