Marijuana packages found next to bus stop

TWO taped packages of suspected marijuana worth over $3,000 were discovered in a garbage container at a public bus stop in the Freeport area, police reported.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Terecita Pinder said the illegal drugs were discovered shortly after midday on Wednesday.

She said that officers of the Northeastern Division, acting on intelligence, went to a bus stop on the Mall Drive where they found the two packages of suspected marijuana with an estimated street value of $3,300.

No arrest was made and investigations are continuing into the matter.
