A teenager who was accused of hacking into a man’s social media account was yesterday granted bail ahead of her trial.
Rayven Young, 19, appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes charged with one count of unauthorised access to computer material and another of unauthorised modification of computer material after she was accused of using a mobile device or computer to change the password of a man’s Facebook account sometime between January 1 and August 24.
The prosecution also alleged the defendant altered the complainant’s passcode without his authority during that same timeframe.
Yesterday, Young denied both charges and the matter was adjourned to November 10 for trial. The youngster was granted $1,000 bail in the interim.
