Website relaunch to boost tourism

The Ministry of Tourism & Aviation has relaunched its Bahamas.com website in a bid to improve the ease with which tourists can plan and book their vacation in a COVID-19 environment.

In a statement, the Ministry said the new, user-friendly interface is targeted at all market segments, such as romance, meetings and events and adventure.

“We are excited to bring the new and improved Bahamas.com to consumers right now and provide them with a streamlined way to plan their next trip to The Bahamas,” said Dionisio D’Aguilar, minister of tourism and aviation. “The new features will help future travellers discover the hidden gems of our islands.”

The Ministry of Tourism said travellers can use the Bahamas.com itinerary planner to plan their trip. Using the trip planning software, HipTraveler, potential visitors will be able to select their favourite hotels, restaurants and attractions.

The website also has a 'discover your next adventure' function, which highlights experiences similar to their interests. This is designed to to encourage visitors to explore more of The Bahamas’ islands and cays. There will also be blog content providing an inside look at the experience or destination.

Fishing, diving, culture and historical landmarks will also be featured so potential travellers can learn more about activities specific to their interests and add those experiences to their itineraries.

“Bahamas.com provides consumers with a first look at all that our islands have to offer,” said Joy Jibrilu, the Ministry of Tourism's director-general. “We are thrilled to introduce the relaunched site and share our islands and stories with the world.”
